Tony Chan
Tony Y. Chan serves as the Managing Broker at North American Real Estate Investment Group. In addition to his professional role, he is the Chairman of the Canyon Neighborhood Association in the City of Redwood City. Mr. Chan is also the co-founder of Pledge, one of the earliest on-chain gaming platforms, and has been an active investor in the cryptocurrency space since early 2017. He is also the special Advisor at the Stanford Robotics Center.
Mr. Chan has completed 21 angel investments in high-technology ventures, generating an average return of 25%. He is the creator of the educational application “One Chinese a Day,” which reached the #1 position among paid educational apps on the Amazon Appstore.
He previously founded Facio Software (also known as the Redberry Company in China), where he led the company from inception to US$2 million in annual sales within three years. His work with Facio Software garnered media attention, including an interview featured in Businessweek.
In 2003, Mr. Chan held a position at Rhapsody Networks, where he was responsible for storage management solutions. The company was subsequently acquired by Brocade Communications Systems for US$175 million. Earlier in his career, he worked at Vitalsigns Software, Inc., managing the Vital Suites product line, which received an award from Network World. Vitalsigns was later acquired by Lucent Technologies for US$128 million.
Mr. Chan began his career at Microsoft, where he contributed to the development of Windows 95. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University
