Ruizhe Jia

Ruizhe Jia is an Assistant Professor of Management Science and Engineering at Stanford University and an Advisor to the Stanford Future of Digital Currency Initiative (FDCI). His research focuses on the economics of decentralized finance and the role of AI in financial decision-making, studying how blockchain-based markets function, how they can be designed for greater efficiency and fairness, and how agentic AI systems interact with these markets. His recent work on maximal extractable value (MEV) and price discovery in decentralized exchanges has been published in the Journal of Financial Economics and the Review of Financial Studies. He earned his Ph.D. in Operations Research from Columbia University and teaches Stanford's courses on DeFi and blockchain economics (MS&E 247 and MS&E 347).
